Best Beaches for Seniors
Sand Beach, Maine
While Sand Beach isn’t a very large beach, it’s a very pristine and handsome stretch of land. Less than 300 yards long, located in Acadia National Park and surrounded by rugged granite formation, this is a harsh and beautiful beach.
Sand Beach is a popular location in spite of the cold water and harsh surroundings thanks to its natural beauty and wonderful views. The nearby resort town, Bar Harbor, is known for its lobster and tourist attractions, too.
Cannon Beach, Oregon
Haystack Rock, the 235-foot tall rock formation off the coast of Cannon Beach, is one of the most well-known landmarks in Oregon. The water stays cool even in the summer in the Pacific Northwest, though the walks around the region are breathtaking.
Local delicacies like razor clams are often served in the nearby restaurants, and the eerie and fascinating landscapes of the Northwest lend this shore town a unique feel. If you’re up for a beach visit that’s off the beaten path, consider Cannon Beach.
Clearwater Beach, Florida
One of the most popular and fun beaches in the US, Clearwater Beach is a wonderful destination for seniors, too. It’s a roughly two-mile long beach found on the Gulf, a half-hour drive from Tampa and sporting unparalleled beauty.
The Beach Walk, the Clearwater Marine Aquarium and Pier 60 are some of the local attractions that everyone can enjoy. If you’re looking for a great beach that’s not too crowded and very fun to visit, try out Clearwater Beach!
