Maybe you’ve been on a cruise or two and you already know how much fun they can be. Cruises, however, are getting more and more adventurous with the features they offer.
Today, there are big ships that have laser 4-D theatres, skating rinks, built-in water parks, and even robot bartenders. There’s all sorts of fun to be had!
Here are just some of the fun new features you can find on today’s most exciting, modern ships.
Catch a Show
These days, onboard entertainment has been taken to a whole new level. Not only are their cruises dedicated to music shows, but there are also Broadway-style performances and more.
Forget going to Vegas, MSC Cruises’ Bellissima even features two exclusive shows from Cirque du Soleil.
Go Sky Biking
Why bother going to the ship’s gym to ride a stationary bike when you could go biking over the ocean? Several Carnival cruise ships now offer an activity called SkyRide. These recumbent bike pods are suspended 150 feet above the deck and offer some incredible views.
Grab a Robot-Made Beverage
Want to simply kick back with a cocktail? Royal Caribbean has employed robot bartenders on four of their ships. They each have 30 spirits and 21 mixers on hand and can make your favorite drink in about thirty seconds.
Go Skydiving – Without the Dangers
Another exciting Royal Caribbean offer is the skydiving simulator. iFly’s RipCord experience lets you feel like you’re free-falling thanks to a secure on-deck wind tunnel.
Passengers onboard Anthem of the Seas, as well as other Quantum-class ships, can try it for free.
See a 4-D Movie
Forget 3-D movies, several Carnival ships offer 4-D films in their new Thrill Theatres. In addition to 3-D elements, these have other special effects like vibrating seats, mist, and artificial wind.
You’ll be able to see your favorite movies in a whole new way.
More Fun Activities
Various ships offer all sorts of new amenities. Most mega-ships now have onboard waterparks, and some even have laser tag and go-karting. Additionally, Caribbean’s Vogayer-class ships even have ice skating rinks now.
Viking Cruise even has a Snow Grotto. Yep, while you may be cruising to escape the winter, you can always enjoy a chill at will.
